VP Legal and Compliance (SMCA)
Shape legal strategy and support business growth across Nammo's Small & Medium Calibre Business Unit (SMCA).
As Vice President Legal & Compliance, you will serve as the principal legal and compliance advisor to the SMCA Business Unit leadership team, supporting commercial, strategic and operational decision-making in a complex international environment.
Working closely with senior leaders, Corporate Legal & Compliance and external stakeholders, you will combine legal expertise with commercial judgement to manage legal risk, support strategic initiatives and enable business growth.
Reporting to the Vice President Programs & Products (SMCA), with a dotted reporting line to Corporate Legal & Compliance, you will be a key member of the Business Unit leadership team and a trusted business partner to senior leaders, helping the business navigate complex commercial, legal and regulatory decisions.
Key responsibilities include
Serve as the trusted legal and compliance advisor to the Business Unit leadership team on commercial, strategic, and operational matters.
Support business growth by providing commercially sound legal advice on strategic agreements, partnerships, M&A and other key business initiatives while balancing legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Lead the Business Unit's export control strategy and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, international sanctions, corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Represent the Business Unit in dialogue with export control authorities, regulators and other external stakeholders when required.
Support product development, intellectual property and technology collaboration through early legal and compliance involvement.
Lead legal and compliance risk assessments, including due diligence and third-party risk evaluations, ensuring legal considerations are integrated into business decision-making.
Coordinate internal and external legal expertise to ensure timely, practical and commercially sound legal advice.
Strengthen legal and compliance capability across the Business Unit through communication, guidance and training.
Lead or support investigations, audits and regulatory matters as required.
Implement corporate legal and compliance policies, contribute to governance frameworks and documentation, and build strong relationships with Business Unit leadership, Corporate Legal & Compliance and external stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will likely have:
Master's degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification.
Experience from a business-facing legal and/or compliance role in a larger international organisation.
Experience working closely with senior leaders and supporting business-critical decisions.
Strong commercial understanding and the ability to balance business opportunities with legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Experience from one or more of the following areas will be an advantage:
Commercial contracts and negotiations.
Export control, international trade compliance or sanctions.
Corporate governance and compliance.
Intellectual property, technology licensing or product development.
Joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions or strategic partnerships.
Defence, aerospace, manufacturing, energy or other highly regulated industries.
Working across multiple countries, jurisdictions and cultures.

Location & Travel
The role involves regular international travel, primarily within Europe, with occasional travel to the US. Candidates should be based within convenient travelling distance of an international airport.
Security Clearance
Please note that this position requires you to be eligible for a Norwegian/NATO security clearance and to provide a valid police certificate.
