Nammo is seeking a Vice President Health, Environment, Safety & Security (HESS) to lead the development, coordination, and implementation of strategies, policies, and initiatives related to health, environment, safety, and security in accordance with the Nammo Management System (NMS). This role is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating Group-level HESS site assessments conducted by directors across occupational health and safety, security and crisis management, environmental management, and insurer contracted Risk Engineering services. In close collaboration with the VP Strategic Projects, the Vice President will ensure HESS participation in steering committees for strategic CAPEX projects. Furthermore, the role wil provide Nammo’s executive management with a comprehensive risk overview to support continuous improvement across all HESS disciplines. The role will report to the Chief of Staff and CEO, and work closely with the EVP level, site managers, and HESS leaders throughout the Nammo Group. Together, we will ensure high standards in our HESS efforts and contribute to a safe and secure working environment for all Nammo employees.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Lead the development and execution of HESS strategies, policies, and directives across the Nammo Group through the Nammo Management System (NMS), based on input from functional HESS Directors
- Oversee and support site-level HESS assessments/risk surveys across all business units to identify strengths, risks, and areas for improvement in safety, environment, and security
- Review reports on events with Serious Injury/Fatality (SIF) potential and ensure key learnings are shared across the organization to support continuous improvement
- Represent or assign HESS representatives to strategic CAPEX steering committees to ensure that process safety, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout project phases
- Supervise the development and rollout of onboarding and continued training programs to maintain high competence levels in all HESS areas
- Manage the annual HESS budget and coordinate planned activities together with the functional HESS Directors
- Collaborate with Nammo AS Treasury and Insurers to keep Business Interruption Analysis and Business Continuity Plans (BIA/BCP) updated and aligned with annual insurance renewals
- Work with insurer contracted Risk Engineering Services to guide sites in implementing protective measures, such as sprinkler systems, based on BIA/BCP insights and Group risk priorities
- Coordinate with the Nammo Raufoss Security Manager in assessing threats and, when needed, arrange executive protection for Nammo leadership in response to elevated security risks

Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in process safety management, quality, production, or continuous improvement involving industrial and complex products or solutions
- Experience managing a health and safety incident/accident reporting program, preferably aligned with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001
- Higher education in safety, HSE, engineering, or a health- or safety-related discipline
- English is our corporate language. Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain NATO SECRET security clearance
Travel
The role requires regular international travel to assess and support ongoing improvements in workplace environment and safety. You can expect approximately 60–90 travel days per year, with flexibility for additional travel as needed.
