Vice President Compliance Aerospace Propulsion

In this critical role, you will ensure that Nammo’s Aerospace Propulsion (AP) Business Unit operates in full compliance with national and international regulations while aligning with the company’s internal governance systems. As our Vice President Compliance, you will provide expert advice on regulatory challenges, and shape compliance strategies to support Nammo’s ambitious goal of doubling production capacity by 2030. Your work will span activities such as developing compliance frameworks, driving compliance change processes, managing risk strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across Nammo’s global operations. You will engage with internal business leaders, regulatory authorities, industry organizations, and customers to foster trust and transparency. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of the Business Unit, you will play a central role in integrating compliance with the Business Units strategic and operational goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead third-party risk assessments, ensuring Nammo partners with ethical and secure vendors, suppliers, and collaborators
- Lead the development and implementation of compliance strategies that align with Aerospace Propulsion’s long-term goals and operational realities
- Develop and oversee strategies for safeguarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and implement Information Control Plans (ICP) across the Business Unit
- Develop and manage compliance training programs for the Business Unit
- Manage export licensing processes and ensure adherence to national and international regulations, particularly in European and U.S. markets.
- Act as a trusted advisor during external regulatory audits and inspections
- Act as a bridge between Aerospace Propulsion’s leadership, Nammo’s Corporate Legal and Compliance team, and relevant Nammo sites to ensure seamless communication and alignment on compliance matters
- Design and execute compliance training programs that empower employees at all levels to understand and address compliance risks proactively
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with government authorities, customers, and industry associations to ensure Nammo’s operations are transparent and well-regarded
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in business, law, compliance or a related field is required (Master's degree preferred)
- Comprehensive leadership and specialist experience in compliance roles within an international setting
- Expertise in compliance, export licensing, and risk management, particularly within European and U.S. regulatory frameworks
- Familiarity with industrial production processes and complex business operations
- Proven ability to lead and manage compliance initiatives across multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience from the defense and aerospace industry is a plus
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Norwegian or other languages is an advantage
Who will you work with?
As Vice President Compliance, you will collaborate directly with senior leaders in the AP Business Unit to ensure compliance is integrated into strategic and operational decision-making. You will also work alongside Nammo’s Corporate Legal and Compliance Departments, site-level compliance managers, and external stakeholders, including government regulators and industry organizations. This role requires building strong relationships and maintaining open communication across multiple geographies and disciplines.
